Our Coverage

Binlog Research operates in multiple African countries, including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan, Chad, Rwanda, Djibouti, Burundi, Malawi, Zambia, DRC, Nigeria, and Congo Brazzaville among others.

Although field operations are conducted in these countries, the design and analysis of the work is centralized in Kenya. To maintain the highest standards in their work, Binlog Research provides regular refresher trainings to their in-country teams on all research techniques and procedures.

This helps to ensure that their teams are always up-to-date with the latest research trends. Additionally, all field staff are required to comply with the current ethics certification (FHI360) standards and are not blacklisted by any authorized research governing bodies, whether local, regional, or international.

Felix is a statistician and research strategist with a strong foundation in applied statistics and a passion for evidence-based solutions. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Statistics and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Research Methods at University of Manchester, England. His academic journey and field experience have shaped a leadership style that values precision, practicality, and people-centered results. As a member of the Royal Statistical Society and the Marketing & Social Research Association, he brings international standards and ethical research practices into every project. His consulting portfolio includes work with renowned organizations such as The Water Fund and Jubilee Insurance, where he led and supported diverse assignments in program monitoring, customer insights, and impact assessments. Prior to founding the firm, he served as a data analyst at the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), contributing to public health research and statistical reporting. His vision for the company is to become a hub for transformative knowledge — where robust data meets actionable strategy for social and economic development across Africa.”

As Managing Director of Binlog Research Limited, Festus Kibet leads the firm’s operational and strategic direction with a focus on delivering tailored research solutions that respond to real-world challenges. He is instrumental in transforming complex data into clear, actionable insights for clients across sectors. Festus holds a degree in Applied Statistics and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Data Science. His expertise spans statistical analysis, project design, and implementation, honed through years of experience working across private consultancies, research institutes, and field-based development initiatives. Before joining Binlog Research, Festus served as a research analyst supporting multi-sectoral studies in areas such as health financing, youth development, and consumer trends. He has collaborated with local and regional organizations to drive data-led decisions, and has a strong foundation in both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. At Binlog, he fosters a culture of responsiveness, technical rigor, and collaborative learning. His leadership ensures that every project delivers not just data but meaning, clarity, and direction for the people who need it most.”

Caroline Hiuko Karugu

Research Director

Caroline is a statistician and public health researcher specializing in non-communicable diseases, food environments, and health systems. She is currently a PhD Fellow in Epidemiology and Public Health at the University of Amsterdam, Amsterdam UMC. Her research focuses on the health and economic implications of food environments for nutrition-related non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in Kenya and comparable countries. Caroline holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Sciences (Statistics) from Maseno University (2015) and a Master of Science in Mathematical Sciences (Biostatistics) from the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences, Ghana (2017), affiliated with the University of Cape Coast. She is part of the Chronic Diseases Management Unit within the Health and Well-being Theme at the African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) in Nairobi, Kenya, where she supports various projects on food environments, food policies, and chronic disease risk factor assessment. Before joining APHRC, she worked as a research scientist at the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), specializing in statistical analysis of cancer epidemiology data for the KEMRI Cancer Registry. Caroline is an expert in statistical and mathematical modeling, spatial analysis, and epidemiological research, using a range of analytical tools. She has authored and co-authored publications in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals. Her work is committed to advancing the health and well-being of African populations by generating evidence to inform policy and decision-making”

Prior to joining Binlog Research, he held roles in project acquisition and client relations within regional consulting firms, contributing to successful bids and long-term client retention strategies. His work has supported research initiatives in sectors ranging from social protection to enterprise development. At Binlog, the he is the driver of growth translating the company’s mission into meaningful engagements.
